Motor System
I'm upgrading this from the windscreen wiper motors, these are noisy and althought I enjoy the interaction with the people I want something quiter and more reliable also I want to make something that is easier to replace and update.
The RPM that i need is about 40 and the torque is (?? computer)
Two parts
1) electronics. Motor lets go with precision gearmotor 45 rmp, https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12514
2) electronics . motor driver, max current , stall, is 1 amp, so https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9457, which has upto 1.2A
3) mechanics - if I need to attach motor to channel and drive a shaft, and also attach channel to frame, also need the screws and allen keys for this.
3.1) channel - going for 4 inch
3.2) couplers 6mm to 1/4 inch
3.2) shaft 3inch although I think this is to long.
3.3) bearing 1/4 inch internal 1/2 inch external
3.4) shaft spacers 1/4 ID and 1/16 width, reduce contact with top of bearing
3.5) bearing mount, mainly so that I can get the channel the right way to brace if off the bottom.
3.6) allen key 6/32 and machine screws 1/2 inch and 1 inch.
3.7) ok now fasten the channel to the bottom plate. I'm going to do this one by hand as it needs to be custom made so I can position it. I'll attach to channel
3.8) one last thing. How to drive the shaft around. lets use a wheel (or wheel) and attach something to that. Wheel only have to be 100mm diameter.
OK so with the above I should be able to position the arrangement and then when I need to replace motor I can and I don't have to think about positioning
notes - height for motor and drive chain is 154mm, drive mechanism from top is no greater than 30mm so this leaves.
