Due, galileo, MEga and Seeed Mega
20140214 - Aim is to get single RGB LED sculptures working. I have double as well but lets get the technical side out of the way then move onto double.
1) Build the new shield with new mic circuit.
2) focus on single and the arty side of this. I.e. make a few in different forms.
2) Design the new layout and use the bits that I have now. Using same core but different outers. Get into the arty stuff.

Difference between ARduino due and galileo and seeed mega and Mega
This comparison is for looking a creating sculpture RGB, single and double.
for me the main difference here apart from cost. Is
1) increase processing speed in galileo
2) more pins in Due with more processing speed than Uno
3) Galileo has a lot of other stuff. If I don't really need it and I don't really need the 400Mhz processing power then Due is probably enough
4) I can get Due cheap at aliexpress, half the price $50 for two. OMG that great. Galileo cost 80$ at seeed.
5) Galileo doesn't have that many pin outs and is probably about the same size
6) Due is cheaper than the seeed mega and has more pin outs.
7) Due has 96K sram and galileo has 256K. If I need it then its important. At present I'm getting away with mega with 8K
8) Galileo is still pretty new. This could have problems
9) mega and Due have same pin out just more power, and as long as I don't do anything to fancy I should be able to use same shield.
10) Mega and uno have same clock speed. Others dont means if I'm doing processing that is real sensitive to timing then same clock speed it good. But only really a sampling thing.
11) Galileo has different power supply requirments. Not a big issue but still need other stuff with it. Also looks like the logic is a little different.
12) Due operating voltage is 3.3. volts. not 5 like mega and uno. Chnages a bit. Can sim900 shield work on 3.3. volts, doesn;t look like it. But Galileo can switch between the two.
13) Galileo always has to have power plugged in, others can drive from USB.
Discussion
1) where space it not really needed I should use the Due or mega if I don't need extra memory, Or I can get way with a longer board
2) I don't think I need to have the galileo at present. Mega has enough processing speed for single and should even be enough for double. And if its not then the Due could be the go.
3) having something faster will be interesting to look at might be more of what I want. Therefore I should go with getting some Due.
4) Something really fast might be very cool. So the Galileo would be fun to work with.
Note - couldn't find a 5v 3a supply on ali for AU/NZ plug, darn. search string "AC 100V-240V Converter Adapter DC 5V 2.1mm AU". I could go US and get an adaptor but I don't really like this solution. Or we have inline power adaptors, again don't really like. But switching one could be fine. did get one hit with "AC 100V-240V Converter Adapter DC 5V 3A AU" i.e. different plug size, this would be OK solution. Seller looks pretty new to it cost 8$ per unit, pretty good.
EMBEDDED - I think that I want to more embedded and avoid the operating system thing.

Conclusion
1) I should buy all of them but budget is the thing. For this project lets focus down, mega and Due because they are cheaper. How much is it really. two Due for $50 Mega, and for 5 mega 15$ each, 75$ and Galileo is 80$ (seeed), If I brought them all, two Due (ali) + 5 mega (ali) + Galileo(seeed) = 50+75+80 = 205$ US = $250 NZ. If I had two Galileo then 285US = 330NZ
2) if I could get this code working on a uno then size would be better but I still have the driving shield to deal with. This wouldn't be as generic, but smaller might be better. another project I think. Where I review code and what it does. the whole object bouncing around could be much simplified and not really look much different then it would be able driving it. But lets leave it for now.
